Physical Therapist - Physical Therapy

We are currently looking for an experienced Physical Therapist to join our growing and dynamic team. We are also open to new graduates as well.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The physical therapist functions under the general supervision of the Director/Owner. The staff P.T. assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides physical therapy evaluations, modalities and treatments in accordance with professional standards of practice, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care.

The staff physical therapist also assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by Physical Therapy Assistants, technicians or other assistant personnel. They may be assigned to orient staff and students and to assume the duties and responsibilities of the supervisor in the absence of that individual.

The P.T. accurately assesses patients' needs; identifies and initiates appropriate physical therapy intervention; prepares documentation which is in accordance with state practice standards and establishes an adequate PT record and delivery of competent care; provides patient and family teaching; and works cooperatively with other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional physical therapy practice. These functions are carried out in accordance with the mission and vision of our practice.

The P.T. participates in performance improvement and program development activities. Responsibilities include providing input into the budgetary planning process; contributing to cost effectiveness of services and programs provided by the department; communicating the employee's observations and suggestions related to opportunities for improvement; and maintaining positive relations with all customers. The physical therapist will provide an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors and staff. The P.T. will utilize the appropriate leadership skill in delegating, organizing and educating patients and staff.

What you will need for the job:
- Graduate from an accredited physical therapy program.
- 1+ year of practice in an outpatient hospital clinic or private practice is preferred.
- Current Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Arizona is required.
- Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification is required.
- Physical Therapist will be required to comply with CEU requirements dictated by the State Practice Act.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Good general health and stress management skills are required. Full mobility and ability to participate in vigorous activity is necessary. The P.T. must have the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with patients, families, other healthcare personnel as needed for assessment, intervention and professional development. Must be physically able to lift, support and move patients. Must possess visual acuity to accurately read and manage equipment as well as record patient records.

Therapeutic exercise and modality devices including but not limited to electronic equipment, exercise equipment, aquatic therapy equipment, ambulation devices, wheelchairs, medical monitoring devices, computer, telephone and other clinic equipment.
